Explained through lived experience
For a long time, I believed that good decisions were made by thinking harder.
Analyzing options.Weighing pros and cons.Talking things through until something made sense.
And yet, many decisions still felt heavy afterward. As if I had convinced myself rather than truly listened to myself.
That began to change when I discovered that I am a self-projected Projector in Human Design.
Understanding this didn’t suddenly make everything easy — but it explained why decision-making had always felt the way it did for me.
Discovering my authority

As a self-projected Projector, my authority doesn’t live in my mind, my emotions, or my gut.
It lives in my voice.
That means I don’t find clarity by thinking —I find it by speaking.
And once I understood that, many small things in my life suddenly made sense.
Why I listen to my own voice messages
I realized that I almost always listen to my own voice messages after sending them.
At first, I thought it was just a habit. Or maybe self-doubt. Now I know: it’s how my clarity forms.
When I speak, something aligns inside me.When I listen back, I hear what’s actually true.
Sometimes I notice:“That’s it. That feels right.”
Other times:“No, that’s not quite it yet.”
I don’t decide in the moment of speaking —I decide by hearing myself.
Knowing that my truth lives inside me was incredibly relieving.
And also challenging.
Because just because truth is there doesn’t mean it’s always loud or obvious. Sometimes it needs space. Sometimes repetition. Sometimes patience.
Human Design didn’t tell me what to decide. It showed me how clarity naturally finds me.

What is Authority in Human Design?
In Human Design, Authority describes how you are designed to make decisions that are aligned with you.
Not based on logic. Not based on pressure. Not based on what others expect.
Each authority points to a different place where inner truth reveals itself — through emotions, the body, intuition, voice, or time.
Below is a simple overview of all Human Design authorities.
Emotional Authority
(the most common)
If you have Emotional Authority, clarity comes over time.
Your emotions move in waves. Decisions are not meant to be made in emotional highs or lows.
Key insight:There is no truth in the moment — only clarity after the wave settles.
If something feels urgent, it’s usually not time yet.
Sacral Authority
Sacral Authority is about immediate bodily response.
A natural “uh-huh” (yes) or “uh-uh” (no). Not emotional. Not logical. Physical.
Key insight:Your body already knows before your mind explains.
Responding — not initiating — brings clarity.
Splenic Authority
Splenic Authority is quiet and instant.
It speaks through intuition, instinct, and a subtle sense of what feels healthy or safe right now.
Key insight:The first whisper is the truth.
It doesn’t repeat itself loudly.
Ego / Heart Authority
Ego Authority is connected to desire and will.
Clarity comes from honest wanting — not obligation or proving.
Key insight:If your heart truly wants it, you’ll have the energy.
If not, forcing it leads to exhaustion.
Self-Projected Authority
(my authority)
Self-Projected Authority lives in the voice and identity.
Truth reveals itself by speaking out loud — not to get advice, but to hear yourself.
Key insight:You don’t think your way to clarity. You speak your way to it.
Safe space matters.
Mental (Environmental) Authority
(for Mental Projectors)
Despite the name, this authority is not about deciding in the head.
Clarity comes through talking things out in the right environment, without pressure.
Key insight:Clarity arises through resonance, not logic.
Environment and soundboard matter more than answers.
Lunar Authority
(for Reflectors)
Lunar Authority requires time — a full lunar cycle.
Truth reveals itself gradually through observation and reflection.
Key insight:There is no rush.
Wisdom unfolds through patience and rhythm.
Authority as a return to yourself
Human Design doesn’t tell you what to do. It reminds you how you already know.
Authority isn’t something to master.
It’s something to listen to.
Where does my body soften?
Where does clarity arrive without force? Where does truth feel calm rather than urgent?
That place is not random.
It’s your authority.
And it has been with you all along.
Your Marie
